🎰 What's the difference between cross drilled, slotted, and vented rotors? - Andy's Auto Sport - YouTube

Drilled vs. Slotted Disc Brake Rotors. Without question, brakes are the most powerful system on your vehicle. No matter how much horsepower you have, none of it’s of any use if you can’t scrub off enough speed to keep from rear-ending the car in front of you.
https://www.andysautosport.com/rotors.html On this FAQ, we're answering the difference between cross drilled, slotted, and vented rotors. From stock replacem...
The four kinds of brake rotors are: Drilled Only – Drilled brake rotors are easy to recognize because they have a series of holes drilled into the metal. Slotted Only – Slotted rotors have slots, which look like lines in the metal. Drilled & Slotted – Drilled and slotted brake rotors combine the drill marking and slot marking.

Why NEVER Put Slotted & Drilled Rotors on your Jeep Wrangler!

The now common ceramic based pads do not produce the outgassing problem in any conceivable street use, so there is no real function-based reason to use drilled rotors. Slotted rotors may still be useful in their ability to remove pad glazing but consequently produce faster pad wear.
Given the choice between drill holes and slots, the drill holes will give you better braking power over slots for normal city/highway driving. This is why high end BMW, Porsche, Corvette, and Mercedes rotors are drilled, not slotted. However, for track racing (high speed stops), slotted rotors are the better choice.
Slotted Rotors Slotted brake rotors are a great alternative to drilled rotors because they serve the same purpose of expelling hot brake gas, but since they retain the strength of the rotor, they do not crack like drilled rotors can. We highly recommend slotted rotors such as StopTech. Some people argue that the drilled rotors are more for show.

As for the blank vs drilled vs slotted debate, everyone has their own opinions on what is best so it really doesn't matter. Cross drilled rotors are not prone to cracking anymore because no one drilled the holes on a structural vein anymore. The holes are also chamfered so it isn't a sharp edge around the hole.
Which are better? Regular or Drilled Brake Rotors? I am considering buying some brembo drilled rotors. But do you think its worth it? I know the drilled remain cooler but they must be good if you drive very aggresive, right?
The wisdom is that drilled and slotted brake disks increase braking force by allowing gasses and material an escape route. Drilled disks used to be common in motorsport and you do still see them sometimes.

Just my opinion but drilled rotors are to be used in race applications only where it wont matter if they don't last long. The holes are magnets for hairline cracks in the rotors. And with as many holes as can be drilled that can cause a seriously unsafe condition. I recommend you go with the slotted rotors.

Can I send in my new rotors for cryogenic treating? Yes. However the probability is we can provide you a new set of rotors that have been cryogenically treated and ship them to you less expensively. If I still want to send in my rotors for treatment, what is the cost? The cost for cryogenic treatment is $56 per rotor.
